Karen Lewis, originally from the UK, now resides and works in the Santa Fe, New Mexico community of artists. Karen creates one of her signature details by silver-coating her handmade porcelain charms and beads. The silver "Gypsy" bead  and hand imprint charm are sculpted from clay then kiln fired until they become porcelain. When cooled, the porcelain pieces are given five coats of fine silver then fired again. The charms are antiqued and polished to create contrast and placed between semi-precious stones and beads. Silver lobster claw closure is accented with a silver tag. 7.5"
